Fountain Trivia:

1. The film was originally set to star Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in the lead roles before Pitt abruptly left the project and the film collapsed. The film was revived when Hugh Jackman took the lead role and Rachel Weisz replaced Blanchett.

2. After Pitt left, an angry film crew sent Aint It Cool News an angry letter attacking Pitt.

3. Fountain co-writer Ari Handel was Aronofsky's college roommate.

4. Aronofsky offered the role of Tom Verde in The Fountain to Hugh Jackman in the dressing room, after seeing Jackman's performance of the boardway play The Boy From Oz.
