Requiem for Chlotrudis Awards & Below News
March 10, 2001: We recieved a message from the Chlotrudis Awards, a non-profit organization that serves to honor and support independent films. It seems Requiem For A Dream has been nominated in a whopping
eight out of nine possible categories including Best Movie, Best
Director for Darren Aronofsky, Best Actress for Ellen Burstyn, Best
Supporting Actress for Jennifer Connelly, Best Supporting Actor for
Marlon Wayans, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and
Best Cast. In addition, Darren was nominated as Best Director in 1998
for Pi and Matthew Libatique won the Best Cinematography Awards
that year. Last year, Sean Gullette was the principal Guest Speaker.

In some Below news, Scott Foley (Felicity) will be playing a role in the film, as well as Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days) who will be playing the ship's skipper. We don't have any more news on whether or not David Boreanaz (TV's Angel) will will have a role in the film. (Just a reminder, Darren Aronofsky will NOT be directing Below. He will only has already co-wrote a draft of the script, and will be executive producing.)
