Blanchett Officially Confirmed
July 26, 2001: We now have official word that Cate Blanchett is signed to star in Last Man (the rumored title for Aronofsky's scifi film). This comes from 13th Street, and is once again thanks to our friend 'William'. Because the title hasn't been officially confirmed, it is still being referred to as being untitled. Here's the article:
Actress Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth, The Lord of the Rings) is the second
cast member to climb aboard the untitled science fiction movie project
being assembled by director Darren Aronofsky. Previous to Blanchett's
inclusion, Brad Pitt was the only cast member confirmed.
And that's all we know about Aronofsky's ultra-secret next film. Not
even the title has leaked out to the press, but we do know the film
will
be distributed by Warner Bros. and is being produced by Village
Roadshow,
the same company that produced The Matrix, Red Planet and Swordfish.
The
director plans to start shooting the movie sometime this coming fall or
early in the winter.
