Bat-News & No More Bi-Weekly Buzz?

BATMAN: YEAR ONE! February 11, 2001: According to a number of sites, Darren Aronofsky recently revealed to Cinefantastique magazine that Batman: Year One will be set in the 70's. Apparently Aronofsky wants to give the film a feel similar to classic film, The French Connection.

Another Batman related news story that has been circulating the net is that Nicolas Cage is Aronofsky's number 1 pick for Batman in Y1. As most would figure, this rumor is complete rubish! Not only is Nick Cage much too old for the part of a young Batman, but Darren is also not yet casting for the part. Not to mention, last year Cage dropped out of staring as the Man of Steel in the upcoming Superman Lives film because he "wasn't interested in that type of film." It is ridiculious to even suggest that he dropped out of that movie to play Batman!

Moving on, for those who wondered why there wasn't any Bi-Weekly Darren Buzz on Friday it's because the Darren Aronofsky Online staff has decided that it is pointless to have it on a week when there is almost no news. From now on we will post the news stories no matter how often they come up, no matter how big or small the story is.

Also, tomorrow is Darren's birthday, February 12, and he will be turning 31! (Thanks to Jamie for the heads up!)
