'Last Man' Shooting In September, Miller on 'Batman' & An Aronofsky Exclusive!

May 4, 2002: Yep, we actually updated the site...

LAST MAN.
Last Man is finally shooting this September at Gold Coast Studios in Australia. Once again, this is Darren's "top secret sci-fi film" starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, and Sean Gullette. It will likely also feature Ellen Burstyn and Jared Leto is also rumored to appear. (Thanks to 'William')

BATMAN: YEAR ONE.
Aint It Cool News posted a scoop from a 'spy' about some recent statements from Year One co-writer, Frank Miller. Here's what he said:

"The film will be dark and very noir like, much more detailed and on a smaller scale than the other films. It will focus more on Batman than Gordon (compared to the comics)." They are at the 3rd draft now and that's all he can say...Before I went on my way I asked him when we could expect this film out. He smiled and said " The script is not even done yet." Then I quickly asked "What's the deal with the 70's Disco Year One script rumor" He turned around and just smiled at me like he knew something. Could that have been a WB PLANT?"

EXCLUSIVE NEWS.
We recieved exclusive news from a film journalist named Carlos Celis from México City. Carlos recently interviewed Darren and here is what he sent us:

When asked about the reason for his visit to México City, he said he came to finish his new script, explaining that when he's writing he wants to be as far as he can from any distraction. Jokingly, he said México City seemed far enough. Anyway, since then, rumours have been circulating that he was scouting for some locations for his next film.

About that "untitled new project", he said "We call it science fiction but it's really not science fiction. It's probably more towards fantasy. Which fantasy I think it's sort of a mix of science fiction and a period piece... (He laughs)"

About Batman, working with Warner Bros. and the possibility of becoming "too mainstream", he answered "I think my Batman will be a little intense. It's not going to be pure entertainment. We will totally work on that level where is very entertaining but it's also going to be very very intense."

REQUIEM FOR A DREAM REMIX CD.
Still no word when the Requiem remix album will get out of this web of licensing and distrubution conflict. Fans of the Requiem For A Dream score and of Clint Mansell hope it's soon.
