Darren Doing Lost; The Fountain Release Date?; New Blog Coming!

October 27, 2005: Okay, we know, we know--what's going on with...

THE FOUNTAIN?
Rumors have been flying around that The Fountain won't be released until 2006, possibly 2007. It does look like 2005 aint gonna happen, but as of right now, post-production hasn't completed yet, so speculation about an exact release date should hold off at least until then. Although, I would be highly, highly surprised if the film gets released in 2007. I will be checking up with some people 'in the know' and should get back to you all once I hear something.
In the meantime, be sure to pre-order your copy of The Fountain graphic novel, adapted from Aronofsky's original screenplay, scheduled for release January 1, 2006. Until then, it seems Aronofsky is interested in directing an episode of...

LOST.
EW reports that while Aronofsky was in Montreal filming The Fountain he became a fan of television show Lost. One of the show's executive producers, Carlton Cuse tells EW, “We scheduled it so that [the episode] is coming on the heels of finishing The Fountain. And we will try to put together a story that will be well-suited for Darren’s talents and visual imagination.”

WRITING FOR OUR SITE.
Updating this site with news stories has always been a bit tricky. Consequently, updates are often few and far between. But that's all about to change! We are currently putting the finishing touches on a new weblog, so future updates will be conveniently blogged (c'mon, everyone has a blog these days) on Aronofsky.Net. Being slackers, we are looking for an individual interested in blogging updates along with us. We are looking for movie buff types who frequently surf the net and read all those movie sites. Basically, we want someone who can update the site whenever new Aronofsky-related information hits the net. You need not be/have been a journalism major in college, but you have to able to write coherently, spell correctly, etc. HTML experience is a plus, not a must. Any photoshop knowledge is a bonus, as is any previous blogging experience. Still interested? Shoot us an email. Be sure to tell us about yourself and you may mention any previous correspondence you've had with us, if applicable. And one more thing, this is a non-paying gig...you know, something for fun.

Our news blog should be online and kicking sometime over the next couple weeks.
